About The Troop |
|
The founders of Second City Troop RFC sought to establish a rugby team that would maintain a high level of play through the cooperation of people with a true love of the sport. It was their desire to keep the politics required to maintain this team to the absolute minimum. The stress of the team and any decisions made by the team and its officers should always reflect the founders' deep feelings that rugby should be played for the fun of it. To that end, Second City Troop Rugby Football Club, Inc. adopts the Mission Statement of the Mid-Atlantic Rugby Football Union, its territorial union: To lead in the development and promotion of the sport of Rugby through the establishment and fostering of comprehensive programs at all levels within its boundaries and to support the growth of the United States of America as a competitive Rugby playing nation. This organization is organized exclusively to foster national or international amateur sports competition under section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code. The club has applied to the Internal Revenue Service for recognition as a public charity. The result of that application will be posted on this site after it is received. |
